Silver Rate FAQs

What does 999-purity silver mean?

999 silver is 99.9% pure silver and is commonly used for bullion bars and coins. Jewellery and utensils may use different purity levels for added durability.

Do these silver prices include GST and dealer charges?

No. The displayed prices are indicative metal values. The final invoice can include 3% GST, dealer premiums, fabrication charges and other applicable costs.

Why do silver rates vary between cities and dealers?

Local demand, transport, dealer premiums, taxes and quotation time can affect the price. Always confirm the final selling rate with a licensed bullion dealer.

How often are TaxNexus silver rates updated?

TaxNexus automatically refreshes the displayed silver buy quote from the live OroPocket feed approximately every 30 minutes. If the feed is temporarily unavailable, the last successfully retrieved rate may be displayed. The rate is indicative and should not be treated as a bullion dealer retail quote or exchange benchmark.

Important: Rates are indicative and can vary by dealer, city, taxes and market timing. Verify the final price with a licensed bullion dealer. TaxNexus does not provide investment advice.

Silver rates: 3 essential comparison checks

  1. Check the source and quotation time. A digital-metal reference and a dealer’s selling quote may differ. If an earlier feed value is retained during an interruption, it should not be treated as confirmation of the current executable price.
  2. Keep the unit consistent. One kilogram equals one thousand grams. Compare prices on the same unit before deciding that one source is cheaper. A per-gram input used as a per-kilogram amount creates a large error.
  3. Compare the complete product price. Check purity, product form, dealer premium, fabrication and applicable taxes. The reference metal value does not describe every component of a physical-item invoice.

Unit-conversion example

Using a fictional rate of ₹100 per gram, 250 grams has a metal value of ₹25,000 before other charges. The same weight is 0.25 kilogram. This example shows the arithmetic only; ₹100 is not a current silver quote or a prediction.

When switching the calculator between grams and kilograms, confirm that the quantity represents the same physical weight. Record the unit alongside the result so a later comparison does not lose that context.

Purity and price are separate checks

A displayed quote cannot establish the purity or authenticity of a physical item. Read the Bureau of Indian Standards hallmarking FAQs and review the seller’s product documents where relevant. Keep the evidence of the item separate from the price comparison.

Save a useful comparison record

For silver rates you retain, note the date, source, unit, purity and excluded charges. Compare the written final quote for the actual item before acting. The gold reference page uses the same distinction between a reference value and a retail quote. Neither page establishes an investment recommendation or guaranteed resale value.
